This putter is made from "Lacewood", a stong hardwood that has a remarkable, almost "lace-like" grain pattern.  The center stripe is Padauk, a wood highly prized for it's near red color.  The accent lines, faceplate and sole are made of ebony.

"Lacewood" Putter

This is one of the most striking putters I've made.   It's a contemporary shape and features a top plate of Spalted Maple.  The sole or baseplate is Black Walnut and the faceplate is made of Ebony.  It features an offset steel shaft and Deluxe Winn grip.

This is a new collaboration with Wood Mosaic Artist Robert Cook from Tucson.  Robert creates the mosaic wood blocks from which I fashion the putter head.  His work is truly unique and you'll never see another putter like this one, anywhere!

The "Christo"

putter maple 2ball top.jpg (270032 bytes)

If you like a larger putter head, this one's for you!   It's made of Birdseye Maple Burl with a Black Walnut stripe and and sole plate.   The faceplate and accent lines are Ebony.  This particular one is a slightly lighter head but, as always, I can make a similar one to your specifications.

Birdseye Maple Putter

Here's that beautiful red Padauk again!  Only this time it's the main feature of this "mallet" design.  It's got a Black Walnut center strip and I've used Ebony for the face plate and sole.  The actual color is deeper and darker than this image suggests. It's beautiful!

putter aztec new top.JPG (242809 bytes)

If you prefer more of a "blade" design, I think you'll like this one!  The design includes an inlay I've made from a wide variety of different woods and framed in Padauk along with Ebony faceplates.  I've also mounted this particular head on a black graphite shaft which just seemed to be the perfect match for this putter head.  I promise you it will spark conversation on any putting green!

If you prefer a lighter colored wood, here's a version of the "Aztec" made from a beautiful piece of Birdseye Maple.   Good Birdseye is becoming almost imposible to find as almost everything harvested is cut into veneers.  This is a truly striking putter!

putter pomele top.jpg (302303 bytes)

Yes, I've saved the best until last....  This wood is called "Pomele Sepele".  Don't try and pronounce it, just enjoy it!   In person, the wood gives a three-dimensional effect.  It looks like you're looking right down into the finish.  My greatest disappointment is that you can't possibly appreciate it in a photograph.  It sports a Padauk center stripe and face and sole plates made of Cocobolo, an extraordinarly beautiful wood.  This is by far my best selling design and I guarantee you'll get "oohs and ahs" from all your playing partners!
